There have been a lot of changes in property management. All our landlords supported REIQ’s campaign and sent emails to the Premier requesting urgent review of Special COVID-19 Protections. The new temporary laws for residential tenancies commenced from 24 April. According to the new regulation, only 1 of our tenants is qualified for rent assistance request. They’re still paying rent regularly though they’re stuck in a lock down country. I’m really grateful that majority of our tenants are paying rent on time.
We followed the health guidelines and implemented preventive measures, eg wearing marks in private inspections, published virtual tours for available properties, conduct virtual routine inspections etc to maintain high level of services.
With the support of owners, previous tenants, suppliers and hard work of the team, we successfully rented out 4 properties recently. Properties in Logan and Bayside still rented fast while some takes longer in Brisbane Southside due to a lot of supply and more new properties available.
Inspections can now be conducted via private appointment or by ‘open house’ inspection from last week provided that agencies comply with applicable maximum person limits and social distancing requirements. We scheduled the first “open house” inspection for 9th May. We hope the open house inspections will help us rent out some properties soon. Sharing an article: Predicting a Post-Coronavirus World
